Michael James Dobbs-Managing Partner, MJD Holdings, LLC

Prior to founding MJD Holdings, Mr. Dobbs spent the past 7 years as founder and CEO of Doctors Access, a leading healthcare software and revenue cycle management firm, which he has successfully transitioned to its new owner. He acquired a predecessor asset in 2002, a regional physician software management company, which he successfully repositioned, grew, and ultimately sold to iPractice Group.

Prior to founding Doctors Access, Mr. Dobbs co-founded and served as CEO of Pay Systems of America (1992-1997), a payroll and human resource startup, focused on outsourced payroll related services to businesses throughout the country.  After reaching a milestone of paying over 100,000 employees, Mr. Dobbs successfully sold and transitioned the company to Concord EFS, (NASDAQ, CFS), in 1997.  Mr. Dobbs became President of Payroll Services for Concord EFS until raising capital to repurchase the company back in 2000.  Mr. Dobbs once again successfully grew the business until ultimately selling the company to Sheakly UniService in early 2002. 

In addition to the success Mr. Dobbs has experienced purchasing, running and selling businesses, Mr. Dobbs has also succeeded in coaching young men in the swimming pool at Montgomery Bell Academy.  In the 5 years Mr. Dobbs has served as Head High School Swim Coach, the team has won 5 division titles, 5 regional titles and 2 Tennessee State titles.   
Mr. Dobbs holds a B.S. in Economics with Financial Applications from Southern Methodist University and a Master’s in Business Administration from Belmont University.

Doug Altenbern III-Vice President, MJD Holdings, LLC

Doug serves as Vice President for MJD Holdings, heading up operational and technology duties across all assets. He also serves as President of The Computer Guy of Nashville, one of our first holdings acquired.  Doug brings a depth of experience, technical skills and management capabilities to his current position where he supports the administration and management operations across all companies. 

Previously, Doug founded The Computer Guy of Nashville, an Information Technology company providing assistance to consumers and small businesses in buying, repairing, maintaining, securing, and auditing their computer systems and networks.  The Computer Guy of Nashville focuses on the 50 and up demographic market as well as businesses with revenues under 1 million. He has also held a variety of roles including sales, marketing, customer service, and data integrity for companies such as Simplex Healthcare, Doctors Access, Quickbooks, and Pay Systems of America. 

Doug attended Montgomery Bell Academy as well as The University of Georgia where he studied International Affairs. He also holds multiple certifications in Information Technology.
